Petito
A pet care app that keeps one animal’s whole life in a single place — the health record, the vet, the medication schedule and the pharmacy. A freelance project, later released as a UI kit.
The problem
Petito is four products wearing one app. A health record for the animal, a marketplace of vets, a schedule of medication and care, and a pharmacy that delivers.
What holds them together is not the owner but the pet. A reminder belongs to Chocoloco, an appointment is booked for Champion, a prescription is filled for one specific animal. So every screen has to answer which pet before it answers anything else.
Commerce inside a care app is also a trust problem. At the moment a medication is chosen, the owner is deciding about their animal’s health, the price and the delivery all at once.
What we did
- We gave every pet its own identity — a colour, a full-bleed portrait, and a card you recognise before you read it — so moving between animals takes no thought.
- We made the pet selector a permanent part of booking and reminders rather than a setting, so an appointment or a dose can never quietly attach to the wrong animal.
- We ended the seven-step add-pet flow on the photo. Species, breed, age and gender come first, and the tedious part pays off with the thing the owner actually wants to see.
- We turned care into one timeline. Medication, vaccination, exercise and vet appointments share a single day view, colour-coded by type, each naming the pet it belongs to.
- We put the pharmacy comparison at the decision point. Price, arrival time and delivery fee sit side by side instead of behind one hidden seller.
- We kept vets legible as people: a photo, a rating with its review count, and the consultation price on the card, so booking never begins with an unknown cost.
- We built it as a light, calm system where pet photography is the only strong colour, which is what made packaging the whole thing as a UI kit possible later.
“The owner opens the app. Everything inside it belongs to the animal.”
